This is a North American bank toy, made from cast iron and then hand painted.
This is a not working toy money box, usually where a coin is placed in the open hand of Uncle Sam and pressing the lever down it operates the linkage mechanism inside, the hand drops, the red money bag marked U.S. opens and the coin drops in the bag and through to the collection box under the bag.
Uncle Sam's beard also moves, as if saying "Thank you". Such early Cast Iron novelty toys such as these were very collectible.
This one is missing the metal top that will make all the movement and missing the bottom part to close and open the bank.
Reproduction Made in Taiwan circa 1950s.
