Extremeley rare porcelain figurine around 1930: elegant dancer striding to the side with her upper body turned forward, wearing a knee-length, shimmering gray-pink trouser dress with floral decoration, yellow-red pearl strap and low-cut back, and a hood matching the dress and almost completely covering her hair, her arms resting at her sides against her hips while holding tightly to her back an orange train that reaches to the ground. The figure is based on beige stepped and arched oval base with shading on the sides, artist's signature 'lorenzl' on the top of the base behind the figure, below the overlying train. Designed by josef lorenzl (1892 - 1950), was an austrian sculptor and ceramic modeler. His bronze statuettes often show graceful dancers with long legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl designed numerous ceramics for friedrich goldscheider and keramos and was one of the most popular artists of art deco. Model 5940 was created in 1929. Made circa 1930 dimensions: height: 43,5 cm / 17.12 in width: 24,0 cm / 9.44 in depth: 12.0 cm / 4.72 in marks: model number 5940 / 4 / 1 goldscheider wien (vienna) manufactory stamp made in austria, hand-decorated painter's and former's signs existing artist signature 'lorenzl' on the back of the base this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
