This wonderfully constructed utility cabinet was the creation of the Upstate New York artist, Leonard Buzz Wallace (1932-2021). Wallace was an accomplished artist and teacher throughout the 1950s-1990s working out of his home, which he built with his own hands. He designed and built many of the built in cupboards, cabinetry and nooks throughout his modern home and studio. Buzz designed and built this piece with his own two hands. The cabinet was used as a room divider separating the living room and dining area. It has multiple uses anywhere in the home, office or studio. It is constructed from oak with black acrylic sliding doors. Circa 1970-80.
One side of the cabinet has cubby holes and shelving backed in black. There are holes that are bored out in one corner to run wires for a stereo system or home media set up. The other side is slightly more colorful with red, yellow, blue, black and white back panels. The smaller upper cabinet has a rack for stemmed glasses. The sides each have two smokey gray glass panels.
Good overall condition. Structurally sound and very sturdy. Minor cosmetic wear and blemishes. Wear consistent with age and use. Some marks and stains. Some minor bumps, bruises and scratches. Minor chips and losses. Back panels painted in primary colors have some wear. The acrylic panels are in good condition. Large rubber wheels were added later for mobility around the downstairs of his home.
Approximately 24.75" deep x 36" wide x 79" high. less
