Empire ormolu and patinated bronze six-branch candelabra attributed to Pierre Philippe Thomire, circa 1805.
A winged female caryatid figure of Victory stands with one foot on a sphere holding aloft a laurel wreath issuing scrolled branches with nozzles above a square stepped plinth base.
A similar candelabra supplied to Napoleon Bonaparte for the Château de Saint-Cloud, sold Christies, London on June 4, 2014, The European Connoisseur - Lot 647.
Measures 35 1/4" tall x x 11 1/2" wide x 12 1/2" front to back. The base measures 7" square. Good condition - formerly electrified and now de-lamped.
