Produced in the 1960s in the former Czechoslovakia, the design is attributed to Ludvik Volak, an architect and furniture designer known for his elegant use of thermoplywood. These chairs offer a beautiful example of his work: the clean, supple curves of the bentwood frame are cleverly echoed in the linear padding of the upholstery, forming a cohesive composition. The cushioned seat has been reupholstered in a corded fabric, adding a textural appeal to the sophisticated silhouette.
