A very nice and useful compact Chinese Wedding Box, an original example with woven design on lid that reads 'Double Happiness'. Traditionally a wedding greeting and this little box would have been used to present sweets/gifts to the happy couple.
Rich brown colour with darker sectional pieces. Brass embellishments.
Can be used for storage, as a sewing box, for small items - very useful.
No markings.
Condition is very good with minor wear to finish in places.
Mid 20th Century.
