Its dimensions offer great versatility for storing items in any room, be it a bedroom, living space, or hallway, all the while providing a luxuriant splash of colour. Chinese culture views red and gold as a lucky combination and this is reflected in Shanxi furniture, which often features these colours. Gold leaf was artfully applied to create charming designs of landscapes, flora, and folktales. This cabinet has weathered with time, but the trees and mountains of the painted landscape still remain. The doors feature simple scenery, with a floral motif beneath, and the golden rectangular brass hardware completes the colour palette.

Typical of Shanxi furniture, Red and Gold Shanxi Mid Size Cabinet is crafted from pine with a thick overhanging top and frame with panels. Wooden dowels rather than metal hinges slot the doors into the cabinet frames above and below, providing an ideal surface for intricate paintings.
