This is a coveted original vintage poster created by Robert Rauschenberg for the United Nations Earth Summit Conference on the environment and development held in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 and attended by 178 nations. The art work, Last Turn–Your Turn, which included the group's pledge became the official picture of the conference. It features Rauschenberg’s signature collage aesthetic of layered images sourced from mass media combined with bold gestural brushstrokes and text, all fused together into a very powerful visual statement. The clock is ticking: clockwise, from the baby in the stroller in the foreground, the living, verdant, vibrant colored world turns into barren trees, and finally into the gray, colorless, lifeless globe on Atlas’ shoulders.
