Extremely rare meissen art nouveau porcelain figurine: red-haired girl sitting on the ground with big hat with brim turned up in front, dressed in green bodice with gold hem, wide skirt with green heart decoration and rosé petticoat, green woolen stockings and long beige gloves reaching to upper arms, coquettishly looking up and smiling, holding a black half-mask to her chest in her right hand, a folded fan in her left resting on the ground. Designer: martin wiegand (1867 - 1961): painter, sculptor and draftsman, studied at the dresden art academy, was active from 1888 freelance, 1906-08 artistic director of the royal saxon porcelain
manufactory, meissen, from 1910 resident in munich and maintained a studio with kiln in nymphenburg. His ceramic works often depict allegorical figures and groups from fairy tales and mythology. Model y 166 was created 1908.
