Louis Philippe cabinet handmade in Italy in the mid 1800s using walnut. The cabinet is built very well and can be used on a daily basis, hence it would make a perfect nightstand. Its light color and straight lines make it a piece that will fit well in a modern room, while bringing a bit of history in it.
The top of the cabinet is made of two flat boards with ogee edges. The sides and back are composed of flat inset panels framed by flat molding. The sides and the fronts are decorated by thin flat molding placed right below the single drawer found in the front. Below the drawer on the front we find a single door which opens to a space divided in two levels by a single shelf. The storage space is ample considering the overall small Size of the cabinet.
This is a beautiful small piece that can be practical as well as decorative. The grain of the walnut really stands out and creates striations throughout, giving the piece a lot of depth despite its very simple line. less
