- This marvelous boudoir powder jar or jewelry box is created in gorgeous sterling silver and cut crystal and was made … more This marvelous boudoir powder jar or jewelry box is created in gorgeous sterling silver and cut crystal and was made by R. Wallace & Sons silversmiths. The beautiful sterling silver top has a fabulous hibiscus floral pattern with leaves and scrolls, while the cut crystal base has a complex cut in the daisy button pattern with 7 point starts around the edges. There is a 24-point star on the bottom base. Silver hallmarks are: R.W & S Co. with a stag head in use from 1870-1875, indicating R. Wallace & Sons, Co. The top has a script monogram of the initials L.H.S. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=3-1/4 inches, Width at widest=4-1/2 inches, Depth of powder jar without lid=2-1/2 inches. This marvelous sterling and cut crystal round box has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent antique condition. There are two small dents on the outer rim of the lid, but they do not diminish the beauty of this lovely box. The crystal is free from chips or cracks but has some very light scratching on the bottom, only seen with magnification, commensurate with age and use.
