The center of this border-less burgundy red interwar Tianjin carpet is delimited by diagonally matching vignettes of a vase and floral branch, and an L-shaped paeony array., each twice repeated. The vases show swastika fret patterns. The paeonies are shaded to imply real roundedness. less
