Beautiful black and gold Urushi Rice Bowls with lids, Taishō [大正] (1912-1926).
The black lacquered wood is adorned with an elegant gold decoration of plant motifs.
An exquisite example of Japanese refinement is that the inside of the lids features a butterfly decoration.
