This particular type of glass, called 'Pulegoso' in Murano glassworks, is characterised by innumerable tiny, irregular air bubbles (in Venetian = 'pulighe' ) that form inside the glass mass, deliberately limiting its transparency. This is achieved, with a technique that was widely used in the 1920s, by adding substances such as petrol, for example, in order to produce a boiling on the molten glass.
The elegantly designed frames of the sconces are made of high-quality chromed metal and are directly lightened with a wire switch.
