Antique German cobalt blue salt glaze stoneware pitcher / jug / ewer featuring the face of Dionysus or Bacchus - God of wine - on the spout surrounded by grapevines / grapes / leaves and the months of the year. The handle has serpent scales and the body has figures in various attire - a jester, a couple, a women with sheath of wheat, man with back hoe, man with dog, some drunk looking people, a sailor, a smoker, etc..
Text reads: Millft du Mein so schenk dir ein, n. Trinke. / Trink’ mit’ Freuden Halt dich befcheinden. Translates to: If you like mine, pour yourself a drink. Drink with joy, hold your spirits. Drink to your hearts content. Dynosis
