The piece features a solid wood construction (I believe pine) with beautiful faux bamboo carved wood details. Each of the 5 drawers is outlined in wood trim with a center skeleton key hole accent and two, turned wood knobs. The 4 corners of the chest have wonderful, thick wood faux bamboo wood pillars. The entire piece is topped with a buttery, yellow marble with gray veining. The back, left corner has a chip but the piece is included if you would like to have it repaired. You can see that I am holding it in place in the 4th photo. The marble is set in place and cannot be removed. The wood has such a warm, aged patina that looks natural, ie no stain. Please know that this piece is a heavy mama and is incredibly well made. The drawers are also all wood. They are pretty clean but a few have some separation in the bottom wood pieces. Drawers are still fully operable and usable. less
