The beautiful barley twist design is iconic and blends well with Italian, English and of course French antiques as well as modern accents and art.
The upholstery is believed to be original or very old as well, because the horsehair stuffing is visible from some of the worn spots. I particularly love them just as they are! are! One chair is slightly smaller, as was customary to craft a pair together so that one was better suited to a female frame and the other to the masculine. The mere fact that this pair has existed since their creation as a pair, is remarkable!
