We have for your consideration a very unbelievable amazing rarely seen chairs from the 1960s in the manner of john risley for ficks reed. Chairs are not signed and unknown of designer or manufacture but these point to John risleys designs. very reminiscent of the duyan chair. Chairs consists of a tubular steel frame that’s is in a brown color almost like bronze in color. Paint does have some scrapes and scratches but nothing to major. No broken welds. Chairs both consists of woven and braided rattan. The rattan is still very strong in fact I took pictures of me sitting in them and a video. So they are full of life still. There are some tiny issues with the rattan and aged patina finish but nothing to major. Some issues with the rattan is mainly in the photos I uploaded might be a few others but small defects. Chairs have what looks to be palm wood that slide between the rattan and hook to the frames and suspend the rattan in mid air such a beautiful design. The palm Wood is in great vintage condition not rotted. Chairs are very large and wide almost like a hammock very comfortable. These chairs are very solid and sound and sturdy and are sure to add a touch of elegance to your mid century modern decor and ready to grace your mid century modern home.
Note: chairs can be used outdoors or indoors. Treat rattan as you would wicker. All rattan should be kept out of extreme cold temperatures and brought indoors. Also during the summer we recommend making a custom cover to protect from the elements when not in use. Care for wicker and rattan tips can be found online and is highly recommended to insure longevity healthy life for these beauties.
