If you are looking for a desk chair with arms for your mid century modern office then this chair is the one. It is a vintage Aluminum Seating Corporation desk chair that has been carefully refurbished and recovered in high quality Naugahyde Universal graphite colored vinyl. The 3” wide tufted channels were created using 1/4” sew foam. The tanker style aluminum base and metal base cap have been polished and the upper frame refinished. Underneath, most of the hardware has been replaced. The original casters were also polished and the wheels replaced so it rolls smoothly. The seat height is adjustable as is the spring tension for reclining.
The exact age of the chair is unknown, and there are very few Aluminum Seating Corp. chairs for sale or that have been sold recently. The company was purchased by Globe-Wernicke, also of Ohio, in 1957, so it is possible the chair was manufactured before this time. I have listed the decade as 1960s.
