They are topped with wooden cones.

Rotaflex is a material made up of wound cellulose acetate threads. This material was developed in the 1950s by the A.R.P. (Atelier de Recherche Plastique / Plastic Research Workshop) founded by Pierre Guariche, Joseph-André Motte and Michel Mortier
