*Gerhard Fietz (1910-1997)
Gerhard Fietz was born in Breslau in 1910 and died in Bleckede in the Göddingen district in 1997.
He was one of the most important painters of the 20th century in Germany and co -founder of the artist group "Zen 49".

He turned against the traditional figurative art and, like his artist colleagues Willi Baumeister, Fritz Winter and Rupprecht Geiger, developed a painting style that focused on dealing with artistic means.
