A rare French art deco chandelier with a modernist look by the famous Paris based company of Georges Leleu in nickel plated bronze or solid brass and frosted clear pressed glass. The chandelier was made around 1932-1936. Leleu founded his company by the turn of the century. It closed down in the late 30s. The shades in thick glass are signed 'G .Leleu' on the inside of the bowls. An earlier version of this chandelier is represented on the 1932 Leleu product poster. The central bowl is 22 cm wide. The six satellite shades are 20 cm in diameter. The chandelier is 27 inches ( 78,5 cm) high and 25,2 inches (64 cm) wide. It is in excellent condition. I have replated the mounting. And the fixture is rewired with 9 American candelabra base sockets.
