You'll love this set of six (6) vintage porcelain coasters when placed under your crystal glasses on your beautifully set, formal Christmas table. I found these coasters at a high-end antique store and knew that I wanted to offer them on Tookey Buxton. These coasters from Brazil — in the now-discontinued "Holly & Berries" pattern, are marked "Schmidt Porcelana Brasil" on the bottom and are in perfect used condition. They will certainly be a festive item to add to your holiday decor. Measuring 3.25" round with green outer trim, they are lovely coasters that will complete your holiday decor.
About Schmidt Porcelain:
Since 1943 Schmidt has been part of the lives and on the tables of Brazilians. Synonymous with quality, Schmidt has a great line of products, which combine tradition with modernity porcelain models and decorations. Not everything is white porcelain. Porcelain is the result of a complex manufacturing process at high temperatures, the main difference from other ceramic household products (such as stoneware, earthenware and stoneware, among others). It is totally free of porosity (zero water absorption), has high mechanical and thermal resistance; enamel smooth and continuous completely free of heavy metals (toxins), is produced at high temperatures (1440 ° C) and with diverse decorating techniques (recording marks and drawings) that can reach up to 1200 ° C.
A simple test: a legitimate porcelain has a characteristic sound to the touch (bell sound).
The porcelain ceramic table that has contact with food must be completely free of cracks that can hide impurities or contaminants and should not release toxins. The "Hard Porcelain" is a type of ceramic product porcelain produced by Schmidt, the material is more qualified to use the table to present all the necessary technical qualities described above. In its product line there are decorated options for all styles and uses, from the most elaborate, with details in gold and platinum, to the most current, with a variety of styles and colors.
