This is an electric table alarm clock designed by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller. It is made of orange bakelite and brass with glass globe. The decorative face of this clock radiates from the center and the numbers are especially art deco. It stands on two clear glass marbles! It has its original cord and is not currently running. Exceedingly rare, museum quality 1930's Art Deco!
Gilbert Rohde, whose career as a furniture and industrial designer helped to define American modernism during its first phase from the late 1920s to World War II, is best known today for inaugurating modern design at Herman Miller Inc.
