A minor bend in the center weatherstripping where the doors meet is observed, but it does not significantly impact their functionality. The antique handles exhibit a lovely patina and slight pitting, which only adds to their vintage character. Some minor scuffing on the interior of the door handles is also noted. These details, indicative of their history, enhance the unique appeal of these iconic doors. less

Taken from the iconic home of the famous designer, photographer, painter, and architect Kent Oppenheimer, these salvaged items represent some of the finest Mid-Century pieces we’ve ever encountered. This one-of-a-kind house was featured in the 1962 edition of Architectural Digest, as well as the Los Angeles Times, Home Builder and Remodeling Magazine, House and Garden Magazine, and Designer West Magazine. Originally crafted by Bray Architects, this timeless residence is rumored to have been a filming location for the original Ocean’s 11 and Diamonds Are Forever, in addition to hosting two separate glamorous photo shoots featuring the talents of Ben Affleck and Laura Dern, as shown in the photos below. Now is your chance to own a piece of history; Kent and his wife Margi, with their Mid-Century style expertise, personally designed the house themselves, including monumental Mid-Century front doors, elegant handmade wooden Goshi screen divider pieces, a space-age kitchen hanging cabinet straight out of the Jetsons, and remarkable Mid-Century drawer pulls, many of which are solid bronze. Additionally, we offer unique bathroom hardware, including some original Mid-Century bathroom lighting that can be used anywhere. All these items will be individually listed in separate groups for your consideration.
Own a piece of Mid-Century history with this exquisite pair of front doors salvaged from the Oppenheimer residence. These vibrant orange doors, each measuring 32 inches in width and 78 inches in height, come together to offer a total opening width of 64 inches. Their standout feature is the stunning sea glass blue mosaic hardware, creating a captivating contrast that embodies the essence of Mid-Century style. These doors are not just an entryway; they are a statement, a piece of design history, and an opportunity to elevate your space with the elegance of Mid-Century design.
