At the center of … more Exquisite antique Chinese jewelry box or desk organizer with inlaid exotic woods and contrasting ebonized frame. At the center of the piece are hinged black lacquer doors with an inlaid abalone / mother of pearl exotic bird and foliate design which open to reveal organiser slots. At the top there is a lift-top compartment over two short drawers. At the bottom a long drawer, and six small drawers along the sides.
Beautiful corner hardware (sliver over brass) which is the original, simple elegant handles and hinges. This piece has obtained through the years a wonderful mature and tasteful colour palette.
No markings.
A rarely seen late 19th Century Chinese organiser box.
The condition is very good. Shows expected wear for a piece from this period.
*Please note we have the key, however it seems not to function.
