To see this fixture in its best light, professional restoration is required... not only for presentation and use, but also to preserve a spectacular design by George Nelson. - three of the four sockets do not work - the down-light is missing - the acrylic drum diffuser has two large black bulb burns - some parts need to be reattached with rivets (parts shown in second photo) - there is extensive oxidation of dark brown; especially both sides of the bottom

Designed by George Nelson for Howard Miller; it's … more This chandelier was abandoned in a Midwest barn through many a winter. Designed by George Nelson for Howard Miller; it's truly a piece of functional art that was meant to be admired in a grand mod space. Extremely rare, two styles of "Metalites" were made: the Cylindrical and Convex (please see the black "shadow" graphic that was pulled from original marketing). Both featured a polyethylene diffuser drum that dispersed the light through angled satin brass fins. An extraordinary monumental.

Brass Chain: 68" long (adds approx 64" to the height of pendant) less
