Rare Uchiwa Ju-Yon chandelier in very good condition. Designed by Ingo Maurer for M design, Germany. This chandelier is handmade from bamboo and Japanese rice paper. The lamp consists of seven fans hanging from a bamboo frame. When lit the lamp gives a beautiful warm light. The lamp is connected to the ceiling by three ropes which are adjustable in height. Ingo Maurer’s interest in paper for lampshades was linked with his interest in Japan. from 1973-1975 he produced various lamps from traditional Japanese fans. This Ju Yon chandelier is very good condition. Uchiwa pendants are very rarely found in such condition due to their fragility. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
