An elegant bronze sculptural bowl with lid by Carl Sorensen. Round with beautiful verdigris original finish complimented with gilt bronze stripes. This is a classic piece, signed by the artist, with a striking finial of a modernized pheasant with elongated tail and in full plumage. Excellent condition. This will make a wonderful addition to a collection, or as a stand alone decoration and conversation piece.

Carl Sorensen is one of the most notable bronze craftsmen of the early art-deco era. His elegant style is unmistakeable, with concentric patterns, metallic inlays, ornate sculpted finials, and unmatched green verdigris. Producing most of his work in Philadelphia in the early 20th century, Sorensen later became a designer for Tiffany Studios in New York
