A rare and spectacular four-drawer bureau in solid teak by Pierre Jeanneret for the civic buildings in Chandigarh, India, designed by Le Corbusier. The floating desk has a gracefully tapered X-shaped leg, leather inset top, four drawers with asymmetrical aluminum-inlaid crescent moon pulls, and a storage compartment concealed by a door on the reverse. A model of economical design, this stately, iconic piece makes excellent use of negative space and elevates functionality to an art form. A matching chair is also available.
