The table before this one was purchased by Spielberg to be used as his desk. This Dining Set was the last one crafted by the artist before he died. Amazingly engineered, so that the 2 leaves are incorporated into the Table itself, with no need to store the leaves. This 7-foot table opens up to be an ultimate of 11 feet long. What else is remarkable, is how easy it is to move! The flattop lifts up and off and then the bottom with four legs is a separate piece - making it easy for two men to move the entire dining set. less

My new movie actor husband and I went shopping for furniture in Los Angeles, and we saw this stunning cherrywood dining room table and ten chairs we fell in love with. It was all hand-carved by a Master Craftsman. Our table was the last table he made before he died.
The table he created before ours was purchased by Steven Spielberg to be used as his desk. Remarkably, this dining room table can also be used for creating projects (provides a big open space).
I have staged the Table with a mirror over it and just a few chairs around, looks very inviting!
It's been great to have very comfortable chairs for meetings and movie nights.
These are the different ways I used them besides dining.
The Master Craftsman who created the dining room set was a genius. He hand-carved beautiful details like rosebuds in the legs of the tables and chairs. He also was clever enough to integrate some distressing while carving the wood, which gives the set its timeless appearance.
The other remarkable thing crafted into the table is how the two leaves at either end are engineered into the table itself. It is so easy to pull the leaves out of each end when you want more space at the table, so the leaves need no storage.
The most amazing thing is how easy it is for this table to be moved. It only requires two men. The table's flat top lifts straight up and can be carried away.
The four legs are attached, and they can be easily picked up and carried away.
The colors of the tables and chairs are warm and glowing, as only cherrywood does.
The overall condition is as you see, fabulous! less
