- A long Mediterranean inspired sofa length all wood coffee table that has a quintessential Hollywood Regency style that embodies mid-1960s … more A long Mediterranean inspired sofa length all wood coffee table that has a quintessential Hollywood Regency style that embodies mid-1960s to early-1970s look and vibe. It is painted primarily and overall in a darkened olive tone and is highlighted by a faux eglomise parcel gilt crackle finished table top. It carries a 1/8" thick glass top that nestles in a tiered framed edge that surrounds the top with an approximate 4 inch girthy and handsome skirt. It is supported by double pedestal legs that have dramatic bowling ball sized chalice shaped semi spheres that stand on puddled plinth style feet that are planted firmly on proportionate rectangular tiered planks. Those wooden platforms stabilize the table perfectly and combined with the overall weight of the solid wood piece, rest assured that this table table is unlikely to tip over. The goblet semi-sphere shaped pedestals have flanking gilt highlighted ormolus as well as parcel gilt highlights on the bands that wrap around the inner curves that are above and below them. This coffee table is simultaneously Brutalist in design and style, with its chunky Gothic masculine demeaner and is also distinctly Hollywood Regency in attitude, with its touch of feminine and glamorous gold highlights. This table can be styled as a low to the ground console ideal for a long sofa or as the ideal coffee table that can accommodate hors d' Oeuvres platters, candles, and cocktails when entertaining. It can also serve as a makeshift ottoman by adding a foot pillow on those nights when it is just you and your other cozying up in front of the television or fireplace. less
