From Wedgwood and in the color way known as Argenta, a fruit plate, England, circa 1875.
Showing a central red and greenish apple and leaves along with a branch of apricots and hazelnuts, all on a white basket weave ground. The basket is bound at intervals in a gray-green glazing which also borders the woven rim.
One of a group made by Wedgwood with each plate featuring a different fruit.
9 in. Diameter x 1 in. H
Marked; Impressed Wedgwood, with a date cipher and the painted numbered mark of the glazer.
In very good antique condition with the minor surface wear expected of the Argenta pieces. Other fruit plates may be available as shown in the last image.
