Miller (American, b. 1956). This piece is a part of the artist's series of "Site Portraits." An square doorway in a dark wall is illuminated by the interior space behind it. Bold orange and teal contrast nicely with rich dark blues. A flame can be seen through the doorway - the source of illumination for the courtyard. The shadows of two figures can be see, one is inside the courtyard, the other is outside, next to the doorway.
