A beautiful piece with an incredible history. This exquisite hand-embroidered tapestry was created in Japan and purchased by an American man who taught English. The scene depicts a traditional Chinese garden with a figure walking over a bridge amongst ducks and flora and fauna. In the background, a Japanese pagoda temple is stitched in browns and oranges. Surrounding the embroidery work is a beautiful blue and white embroidered tape with a floral design. Outside of that, is another silk fabric with a geometric embroidered pattern. A mint green frame flanks the piece on all sides. The entire tapestry is framed in a simple gold metal frame, with glass to protect the work. But perhaps the history of this piece is the most beautiful part of all. During the man's stay in Japan, he met the man that he would spend the rest of his life with. Secretly, unfortunately. They framed this piece, as well as another we have to remember their time in Japan and when they first met.
