See picture of same. And the fabric seam in the back may be a millimeter pulled apart, but still tight. See pictures. There are also 3-4 very minute … spots on the inside of the shade liner … that are not noticeable with a bulb on … either on or off, unless you “concentrate” down into the shade, meticulously. Once again, please see pictures. Other than that … this is in really spectacular shape, considering its vintage age. She … my mom … tried to get me, and/or my wife to learn this “trade” of hers, and we stubbornly resisted. I wish we had learned how to do it from her. They are not only creative gems … but they are so well constructed. Even still. She was not just “crafty” … she was a craftsman. Be careful with it, if you snatch this up. less

handmade lamp shade.
Wonderful fabric.
Still vibrant.
Might be … may be … Schumacher fabric.
My mother and father … among other creative ventures … established a business, 40 years ago, called “Shades of Olde Richmond” … as in lamp shades … and … as in Richmond, Indiana.
In fact, the picture of the home on our actual Chairish business listing for Save The Whales Antiques … is their … personal residence that they lovingly restored … beginning in 1980.
That home was/is still … a masterpiece….
My mother meticulously, and expertly created well over a hundred lamp shades from scratch; rings, liner; fabric; grosgrain; and trim.
She made special order shades for local residents out of fabric of their choice and wholesaled dozens and dozens alone … to an upscale boutique gift shop in the Indianapolis area, called Down By The Ducks…for years…in the 80s and 90s.
I still have a couple dozen in my possession. In pristine condition.
Hate to part with any of them.
But, gotta … clean some house; and share their creations.
And … most of them are still in outstanding shape.
This is but one of them.
The rings are tight as a drum. It is drum style shade, after all.
Its dimensions -
Height - 9”
Upper Ring - 10”
Lower Ring - 11”
The red textured grosgrain is in quite fine shape.
This particular shade has been “in storage” for the past 30+ years … not subjected to an interior light bulb; explaining the still graphic colors.
It’ll go fast.
Just sayin’. less
