VIRGINIAE PARTIS AUSTRALIS, ET FLORIDAE PARTIS ORIENTALIS. Amsterdam, c. 1640. Hand-colored. Framed and matted. Plate size is 22 in x 17.5 in , with matte : 29.5 in 26, with frame : 34.5 in x 31 in. A nice map and a good impression with plate-marks visible, with early hand-coloring. The map extends from the southern part of the Chesapeake Bay to northern Florida. This map was an improvement upon the Hondius map of 1606. See less
