Beautiful green and clear Sommerso (maybe Scandinavian) art glass vase. Sommerso (Italian for "submerged") is the Murano glassmaking technique of creating two or more layers of contrasting glass without the colors mixing together. It is formed by dipping colored glass into molten glass of a different colour, before blowing the glass into the required form.
This gorgeous vase is made of thick, smooth glass with a stable, flat bottom and faceted sides. The glass walls are thick and heavy. It is about 4 inches wide at the top and 8-1/2 inches tall. It weighs almost 5 pounds. Not signed. less
