This stand … more With our finest compliments Bay Colony Antiques takes the distinct privilege in offering an exceptional federal style candlestand. This stand was made in the 20th century in the tradition of the finest candlestands produced in the early American federal period throughout New England. The stand is constructed from an exceptional grade of cherry which is finished with a desirable cherry color that has developed a warmth and brilliant patina which most furniture makers fall short of emulating. The circular top is small by design to support a candlestick. These stands can be used to decorate any room in a traditional American interior as every room in an early colonial home would need a source of light and a table to accommodate the lighting device. The candlestand features a masterfully turned baluster form pedestal which is supported by three finely formed curved spider legs. Each of the legs is dovetailed into the pedestal base in the same manner as an early American candlestand produced by an expert furniture craftsman. The candlestand has a graceful presence and stature with a beautiful cherry color which has a stunning appearance in natural sunlight. The table has a 15 1/2" diameter and stands 30" tall. less
