Description: This is a rare modernist book end, designed and manufactured by Carl Auböck III in the 1970s. The bookend consists … more This is a rare modernist book end, designed and manufactured by Carl Auböck III in the 1970s. The bookend consists of a large brass medal, which displays the coat of arms of the house of Habsburgs, the double headed monarchy eagle and the words "viribus unitis“. The coin is surrounded by a square blackened frame made of iron. In very good condition. These bookends have been produced only in a low number of pieces. Measurements: 6.75 x 6.75 in., depth 1.75 in. Diameter of the emblem 4.5 in. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
