A spectacular French late 19th century artist’s easel hand-crafted in France circa 1890. Well loved and taken care of this large art or gallery easel displays a few paint drips and splatters on the frame from the previous owners. At almost 7 feet high the massive A-frame is fully adjustable with a wide range of different heights and has a shelf support that provides stability for the artwork as well as the option to be used as a well for artist’s tools while in use. A connecting stretcher across the bottom provides additional support and the frame terminates into two substantial elongated and chamfered blocks that eliminate the need for a third leg and roll on their caster wheels for mobility with ease. Well constructed and in its original condition with minimal signs of wear, this easel has a wonderful warm patina that makes it most attractive.
