In this case, they do. These appetizer plates and serving platter hand-painted with whimsical fish are saturated in colour! We found them in a vintage shop in Tuscany - and instantly we fell in love. The detail and the colours are just beautiful. The story behind them is too. In the glory days of air travel (oh how we miss those days), the first class passengers on SwissAir were served their appetizers on these and other designs of plates. Rare and elegant, this particular set also carries a hand-painted rim in gold plate. They make a perfect host/hostess gift, or any kind of gift really - for yourself or someone else. less
