A feminine Art Nouveau inspired portrait oil painting on canvas titled “Girl” by William Benecke. Hand signed in acrylic bottom right. Verso original gallery tag from W. T. Burger Co. Inc. William Benecke (1934-2001) was an artist from Chicago, Illinois. He has his formal art training at the Art Institute in Chicago and went to work at first as an illustrator for several of the major studios in Chicago and worked as a staff illustrator for the Chicago Tribune and the Sun Times. At the age of 24, he went to Mexico and lived there for 10 years during which time he painted and had a gallery. The owners of his paintings include such well-known figures as Bob Hope and Dan Blocker. From a private collection. Dimensions: 32.5”h x 25.25”w x 2”d (framed). In very good vintage condition.
