The trunk was originally made for storage of … more This Antique Chinese Treasure Trunk is handmade in elegant Ming style furniture. The trunk was originally made for storage of gold or silver bars, coins and high-end fabrics for wealthy family before paper money used in China. There are two large lids on top of the trunk used for opening. The stand of the trunk also hosts three hidden drawers. The trunk is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Original patina and wear. Made from cypress with beautiful natural wood grain, the trunk is very solid has been kept in excellent condition. Circa early of 19th century. (can be used as a large sideboard too)
