The signature looks like it was created after or in the style of Utamaro Kitagawa artwork. The signature is dark and we are not 100% sure about it. Ink and gouache on paper. Silk border. Lacquered black wood frame with engraved metal corners and plaques at each side. Paper on back. Four Asian style brass hangers. Very detailed. Japan, Taishō - early Shōwa era, circa 1920 - 1950s. Excellent condition - minor age wear, strong hinges, sturdy.
