My team restored a 19th century hacienda style bench with new webbing and foam. We reupholstered it with a new woolen tapestry made in Oaxaca by indigenous Zapotec women, using local wool and natural dyes.
Like most Mexicans, I am descended from both indigenous people of our beautiful country -- in my case probably Aztecs or Tlaxcalans -- and Spanish colonists. I envision some of the most beautiful expressions of Mexican aesthetics as combinations of the amazing beauty of traditional Native American and Spanish craftsmanship.
