This Georgia O'Keeffe rare vintage 1987 first edition " Arts and Letters " lithograph print collector's large hardcover exhibition art book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The hardcover art book with natural linen covered boards, embossed spine titles, and dust jacket is published by The New York Graphic Society Books, Little Brown and Company Boston, in association with The National Gallery of Art Washington D.C.. Printed by offset lithography by A. Colish, Inc. Mount Vernon New York in 1987, authored by Jack Cowart and Juan Hamilton.
The monograph art book was published on the occasion of the major exhibition of the artworks of Georgia O'Keeffe at The National Gallery of Art Museum in Washington D.C. in 1987. It features 120 beautiful full-color lithograph print illustrations, 11 black & white photos, an artist chronology, and accompanied compelling text.
Georgia Totto O'Keeffe ( 1887 - 1986 ) is an American Modernist painter. She is best known for her beautiful, engaging poetic paintings of enlarged flowers, New York Skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. O'Keeffe has been recognized as the " Mother of American Modernism ". Artworks by O'Keeffe are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
This book and exhibition marked the centennial of the birth of Georgia O'Keeffe. The iconic volume is distinguished by exquisitely reproduced color plates carefully chosen from the very best of O'Keeffe's work. The addition of documentary photographs and portraits enhances the understanding of O'Keeffe as an artist and individual. It also features more than 120 letters, most of them never published before.
