Description: Superior Italian Marquetry inlaid roll top secretary bookcase features a scrolled broken up pediment above two glazed doors opening up … more Superior Italian Marquetry inlaid roll top secretary bookcase features a scrolled broken up pediment above two glazed doors opening up to a shelved interior The bottom piece features a hidden roll top opening up to an interior fitted with a pullout/ pull-out red gilt tooled leather writing surface and small drawers and compartments centering a lockable door flanked by two half columns hiding secret compartments. The bulbous serpentine front features three drawers above a shaped apron and splayed French feet. All surfaces are elaborately inlaid with flowers, leaf work and classical motifs.comprised of 3 large drawers and a pullout desk surface of inlaid leather. There are 4 small drawers on either side of the locking compartment. Two hidden drawers are camouflaged in the trim surrounding those drawers. The largest measurements of the bottom piece is 45 5/8"H x48"W x26"D. A curved sliding or roll top door hides the drawers and desk when not in use. The top detachable piece is a cabinet with three moveable shelves. The doors are decorated with two antiqued mirrors. The largest measurements for the top are 49"H x12"D x48"W. The overall measurements are 94.5/8"Hx 48"W x26"D. Purchased from Stenella Antiques in early 2000s. less
