It came from an unbound collection of maps that featured the regions of Italy with illustrated vignettes of structures, nature and activities. This is a graphic map in vivid color of the region of Campania, Italy. The map showcases Napoli, Amalfi and numerous other historic towns and well known famous towns such as Positano, Ravello and of course, Pompei The map’s illustrator, Vsevolode Nicouline (1890-1062), had a career as a pictorial illustrator who spent his professional career in Italy. Signature is in upper left. This chromolithograph print is pristine with no evidence of foxing, folds or wear. It is beautifully bordered and is perfect for framing.
