Chinese porcelain Eight Immortals meiping, a plum shape vase with a white glazed interior, polychrome glazed exterior, a gilt lip, … Read more Chinese porcelain Eight Immortals meiping, a plum shape vase with a white glazed interior, polychrome glazed exterior, a gilt lip, and a satin glazed base with a bright white glazed, circular inset. The gilt lip ends in a thin red trim circle and a band of red and white, leafy lappets on a yellow ground. The base of the neck has a blue and white, cloud and thunder meander, bracketed by red and gold trim circles. Next is a wider band of four, leafy, bud and flower medallions alternating with blue wanzi symbols on a light green ground. Surrounding this band is a border of polychrome, Ru Yi lappets. The body has two finely drawn, shaded and detailed depictions of a group of nine Immortals and a group of eleven Immortals, alternating with highly detailed mountain landscapes, fading into the distance in Chinese aerial perspective. Both groups of Immortals show deities riding fenghuangs in the sky. A border of large, polychrome, Ru Yi lappets adorns the foot of the vase. A blue, six character, Yongzheng, reign mark within double circles is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand, and the custom fitted, plush lined, storage case are included. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
